I replaced my trikes (weight-shift control aircraft) with a gyroplane in 2020. I have flown trikes over 1400 hours between 2008 and 2019. I think trike was a good platform for my videography work, but gyroplane has two major advantages over trikes, maneuverability and stability in turbulence. More than dozen of my trike friends converted to gyros in the past few years. All of them have been very satisfied with their gyros since.
Gyroplane: AutoGyro MTO 2017 (type-certified)
Engine: Rotax 915iS, turbo with fuel injection system (141 hp take off and 135 hp continuous)
Fuel: Auto gas higher than 91 or Avgas 100LL
Fuel Tank Capacity: 24.8 gallons (94 liters)
Range: 350 miles
License required in US: Sport Pilot license in gyroplane category

MAGNIFICENT "Cirque of The Towers" from Gyroplane - Wing River Range, Wyoming
Brent and I in 2 gyroplanes flew over "Cirque of The Towers", one of most famous landscape in Wind River Range, Wyoming. We climbed to between 13,000 and 14,000 feet in 20's degree temperature in July.

We visited Wind River Range in Wyoming. We flew out of Pinedale Airport. About 40 miles north, there are Green River Lakes (Lower Green River Lake and Upper Green River Lake), where Green River starts in the deep canyon. Green River is one of the major tributary of Colorado River. It is located at most north end of all tributaries.
Super bloom of yellow flowers (black mustard) from the sky

These hills located just south of my home airport was cleared for fire last year and now have super bloom of black mustard flowers. These mustards were internationally scattered by Spanish missionary in 1700s to mark their way of missions. It is now called “El Camino Real” commemorative 600 miles route along California coast.
Wired Landing Experience
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 месяца назад
It was a bit wired experience today. It was not windy nor gusting. My gyro was pushed backward right after it stopped on the runway. I had to add some engine power to reverse the movement. I applied a bit too much flare and hit the keel on the ground. Was it the reason ?
Deep Canyon....almost no safe landing spot

Spring Flight in Gyroplane - enjoy a hour flight
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.4 месяца назад
It is a clip covers my entire local flight. I flew over the green fields on the southwest and came back to the valley where airport is located, then, continued to the east about 30 miles along the valley to Magic Mountain Park. Enjoy my entire flight over beautiful spring fields with a relaxed music. Hope you can enjoy your morning coffee or even getting in afternoon nap.

Gyro maneuvering over the green fields

Descending with quick turns in slow flight. Gyro can fly very slow even in very sharp turns without warring about stall. Gyo’s exceptional maneuverability makes its fflights so much fan.

These hills are located at just few miles southeast of Santa Paula Airport. The wild fire burned through these hills few months ago and it made new grasses growing with insanely saturated green color.

Nice Henry, looks like the weather was calm?
@@TheeAthis yes, it was less than 15 mph at 13,000 MSL
@@HenryGyroLife looked really calm, makes for a sweet flight :)
wow!
Vaya... Cuando creía que ya no se podían mostrar imágenes más espectaculares vas y lo superas. Me ha encantado. Gracias por compartirlo Henry.
Bro the higher you fly up is the higher of using more fuel isn't that
@@Mohamedibraahim144 my engine is equipped with a fuel injection system, which makes it less fuel in higher altitude.
what kind of rotor head bearing is that. Is it a duplex or one ball bearing . is it greasable. does it have a temp senser to monitor its condition or maybe a vibe monitor and lastly how long do you run it until replacement. oh and nice vid
@@peterrestaino7047 For rotor teetering, AutoGyro uses rotor head with bushings, no bearing. Bushings are needed to be replaced in every 300 to 400 hours. These bushings are required to grease in every 5 hours too. More maintenance but very strong and no catastrophic failure like bearing. For rotor head rotation, it has 2 bearings. Every 1000 hours to replace. No temp monitoring nor greasable.
wow that must be one special bushing.
You had the supp o2 flowing mate?
@@airmackeeee6792 yes, I did 😊
@@HenryGyroLife Excellent! 👏👏👏
You inspire me Henry! Keep these beautiful videos coming.
How exquisite. Thank you for sharing...you make it possible to enjoy without fear for we viewers 👍
Heh. How mutch is off your top speed with that many cameras? Do you have a Per camera number. JK. Really nice to see all views of a manuver/sight.
@@Therapy1044 probably, 5knots slower 😅
I like that.
Henry. Is there a way to message you. For private? I don't know enough about different media to get/give contact info in confidence. We have met.....

Bro how long distance did you cross per hour and how many litter taken all of this journey
Ok that is awesome but how many ft did you reach
@@Mohamedibraahim144 my highest altitude I flew in my gyro is 15,500 feet.
@HenryGyroLife oh bro thanks but please and what about you highest speed and pls and about fuel
@@Mohamedibraahim144 my top speed is about 110mph at 5500rpm. My usual airspeed is around 70mph with about 5.5 gallon/hour.
@HenryGyroLife thanks bro please bear with me because i want to buy so like i i flying 10000 ft and i flying 5000 or less its same as fuel using and thank you very much 😊
What altitude are you flying at here? Interesting perspective on an area I’ve hiked through
I was flying between 8000 and 9000 feet.
Looks like a blast
Where is the front wheel 🛞 😮
@@Olympus_318 it is there, but the camera can’t see it.
@HenryGyroLife I thought it was a new giro that came out with retractable landing gear. No kidding, I really did. 😄

Henry, thanks for another stunning video.

Autogire, ou girocoptere un truc comme sa. Attention sa vole vite , faut une piste pour décoller
Actually, it is pretty safe, comparing to other type of aircraft. But you need training from appropriate instructor.
I bet the feeling is amazing

Bro, you should have Netflix series! These are breathtaking views and you are enjoying it the way the God means it😂

This is rad! I have a PPL and really want to try this out😍!
Looks like fun!
My beautiful backyard, which I’ve hiked many times. Sad that climatologists and glaciologists tell us that they’ll be no more glaciers in Olympic National Park by 2070. They’ve been receding for the past hundred years, and we have plenty of photos which verify that. Thanks for this footage!
What is a cruising speed and fuel consumption? I'm guessing 30 knots at 60mpg, so not practical for long distances, but good for fun??? I'm just asking
It can fly between 45 and 65 knots. Fuel consumption is between 3 to 4 gallon per hour. 17 gallon fuel tank up to 4 hour flight. Range 250 to 300 miles.
@@HenryGyroLife Definitely faster than I thought, and 300 mile range is great, thank you for the response!
Thank you for sharing this Awesome video ❤
Incredible trip, scenery & photography. Did not realize a gyroplane could make such a trip. Great video editing; music captured the feeling of awe I had watching your experiences. Thank you for posting!
Thank you for such a nice comment !!
Agreed.
Do those flowers bloom once a year or more often?
Only once a year in spring.
